Like a lot of guys, you may have an ear bent toward politics, whether that be on a local or national level. It’s probably both. Certainly, there are political positions we don’t agree with and therefore oppose. This brings to mind one a challenging piece of Scripture where we’re told to pray for “kings and all who are in high positions.”
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
1 Timothy 2:1-4 (ESV)
This morning CFBC member Jay Johnson posted his own personal conviction on this.
Obviously, we’re called to pray for our leaders. Have you found this hard to do? Exactly how do you pray for your leaders, especially those with whom you hold strong disagreements?
